Winning is everything. That’s all that matters. You either win or you lose. There’s no other result. It is an obsession. Of course, to win in the things that you do, you must be obsessed with what you do. Otherwise, you’ll never be able to push through the obstacles that come your way. Perhaps, it all comes down to my hatred of mediocrity. There’s nothing good about mediocrity. I become what others are and start thinking like them. Where’s the fun in that? Life’s too short to be living like someone else. If you’ve got a plan, go ahead and work on it. What’s the worst that can happen? You fail, that’s it, isn’t it? Well, try again. If it is something you want to do, try again and keep trying until you win. Try different approaches, think better, but get it done. What’s the point of living if you aren’t doing what you love? What’s the point in living if you aren’t becoming better every day? You are just swimming in the same slew. That same old, disgusting slew. You’re better than that. Learn a language (human/computer), design a rocket engine, understand climate change better (instead of protesting about it, manufacture science/machines that can produce tangible results). Keep creating. Life is too short. You can never deny the fact that you are obsessed with becoming the best and changing the world. My friend, obsession is the key. Passion can only get you so far. You’re here for what? 50 years? 60? Okay, 70? Well, if you were to die tomorrow, what would be your legacy? Unfinished papers? Incomplete startups? Is that what you want to be remembered for?

What’s the goal here, huh, bud? It is to be the best or nothing at all. Each day, when you study physics or math, you’re aiming to be the best. You aren’t competing with anybody. You’re competing with yourself. Your goal is to know more than what you knew yesterday, have a better-connected brain than you did yesterday. One of the best things that you’ve realized early in your life is that no one gives a crap about you. They’ll have you in their minds for a moment and then they’ll give that attention to someone or something else. You aren’t here for the spotlight. You’re here to get the job done. You’re here to find solutions to issues and prevent them from happening in times to come. You and your quest to learn. That’s all that matters. When you’re in the zone, have you noticed how good it feels? Nothing else matters, other than you and the matter at hand. Life’s all about moments like these. Living in the present and not worrying too much about the future.

Let’s change the world, man! Let’s win. Losing, leave it for others.

“You want to live but do you know how to live? You are scared of dying and tell me, is the kind of life you lead really any different from being dead?” - Seneca
